If you are in a difficult space, therapy will allow you to better understand what is happening inside and helps to explore the best possible outcomes imaginable. An experienced therapist has the skills to help you find the options you haven't thought of before, allowing you to practice new ways of thinking and behaving, then applying this to real-world situations. Therapy can help to restore calm, reduce anxiety, quell repetitive thoughts and rebuild hope and motivation to move forward. Good news! I can help you to get yourself back on track. Here are some of the tools that I use and how they can benefit you- • Psychotherapy It's good to talk and to air what's on your mind. Things left unsaid or unaddressed can start to build up and boil over. The process of psychotherapy allows you to be seen, heard and accepted for who you are; you can positively affect emotional and psychological health, which promotes real positive changes in mind and body. • Hypnotherapy Using hypnosis in a therapeutic context allows you to relax and let your mind wander. In a hypnotic state, the mind can consider what you would like to have happen in your inner-world and in the world around you. An example of inner-world work would be focusing your attention on doing things that are healing rather than harmful. For example, you may choose to focus on becoming free from smoking or increase your interest in eating healthy foods. In a hypnotic state, you retain your free will and your ability to move, and return to waking consciousness refreshed and alert. • Cognitive Behavioural Coaching One of the most helpful techniques in cognitive behavioural work is doing a “Reality Check”. The reality check is used to question repetitive and negative thoughts and feelings that keep spinning around by simply asking: is that really true? For example, statements such as “no one likes me” or “I can never learn that” need to be interviewed to check if there is any flexibility and to give you a break! • EFT Tapping Therapy EFT – Emotional Freedom Techniques – are designed to help you address issues where distress is lodged in mind or body or both. The aim is to unpack persistent issues, allowing your system to calm down and rest. EFT is particularly helpful for working with trauma, and while this may trigger emotions, the work is done in a way that is as slow and gentle as it needs to be.
